EFIS Travel Grant

The European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS), together with its Official Journal, the European Journal of Immunology (EJI), and thanks to an extraordinary contribution from the Fondation ACTERIA, will be awarding 250 travel grants at the value of EUR 600 for young post-docs and PhD-students (or equivalent) under 35 years of age requesting financial support to attend the ECI 2018.

Application deadline: April 23, 2018

To be eligible for an EFIS-EJI travel grant, the applicant must be the presenting author of an abstract submitted to the ECI 2018.The applicant must also be a member of an EFIS-affiliated society. For a list of all EFIS member societies click here.

To apply, please first submit your abstract via the online abstract submission system on the ECI 2018 website and then go to the EFIS Website to submit your abstract submission receipt, your CV, and proof of membership with an EFIS member society.

Successful applicants will be notified of their award by June 15, 2018. Please note that grants will be paid by bank transfer after ECI 2018 has taken place. Advance payments will not be made in any cases. In order to claim their award, grant holders will be required to confirm their attendance during the congress to the EFIS booth in the ECI Immunology Village. Please also note that only one grant will be allocated per person and the grant cannot be transferred.

NVVI Travel Grants for Early Career Scientist from Developing Countries

The Dutch Society of Immunology (NVVI) will be awarding 10 travel grants at the value of EUR 600 for young post-docs and PhD-students under 35 years of age from developing countries requesting financial support to attend the ECI 2018.

Application deadline: April 23, 2018

To be eligible for an NVVI travel grant, the applicant must be the presenting author of an abstract submitted to the ECI 2018.

To apply for an NVVI travel grant, please indicate as such during the submission process via the online abstract submission system on the ECI 2018 website. In addtion, please submit your detailed CV (plus list of publications, abstracts, congress attendances) to the NVVI office by a seperate e-mail to NVVI@umcutrecht.nl. Please send one single PDF document (filename=familname.pdf). 

Successful applicants will be notified of their award by e-mail by June 15, 2018. Please note that grants will be paid cash onsite only. Advance payments will not be made in any cases. In order to claim their award, travel grant holders will be required to confirm their attendance during the congress to the registration desk. Please also note that only one grant will be allocated per person and the grant cannot be transferred or cumulated with another travel grant awarded by another organization.

ECI-AAI Travel Grants for Trainees from Developing Countries

The American Association of Immunologists (AAI) is pleased to offer up to 30 travel grants to trainees (graduate students and postdoctoral fellows) under 35 years of age from developing countries to attend the ECI 2018. Recipients will be reimbursed up to EUR 600 for travel expenses to the meeting.

Application deadline: April 23, 2018

To be eligible for an ECI-AAI Travel Grant for Trainees from Developing Countries, the applicant must be the presenting author of an abstract submitted to the ECI 2018. 

For a list of eligible developing countries please click here. Please note that AAI must follow U.S. government guidelines in awarding travel grants.

To apply for an ECI-AAI Travel Grant for Trainees from Developing Countries, please indicate your interest during the online abstract submission system of the ECI 2018.

Successful applicants will be notified of their award by June 15, 2018. Please note that grants will be paid cash onsite only. Advance payments will not be made in any cases. In order to claim the award, recipients must confirm their attendance during the congress at the registration desk. Applicants may not combine an AAI travel grant with any other travel grant or award to ECI 2018.

IUIS Travel Grants

The International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) will be awarding 10 travel grants at the value of EURO 600 for young post-docs and PhD-students under 35 years of age requesting financial support to attend the ECI 2018.

Application deadline: April 23, 2018

To be eligible for an IUIS travel grant, the applicant must be the presenting author of an abstract submitted to the ECI 2018. The applicant must also be a member of an IUIS member society and must be based in an IUIS member country outside of Europe.

To apply for an IUIS travel grant, please indicate as such during the submission process via the online abstract submission system on the ECI 2018 website.

Successful applicants will be notified of their award by June 15, 2018. Please note that grants will be paid cash onsite only. Advance payments will not be made in any cases. In order to claim their award, grant holders will be required to confirm their attendance during the congress to the registration desk. Please also note that only one grant will be allocated per person and the grant cannot be transferred or cumulated with another travel grant awarded by another organization.

AAI Travel Grants for the European Congress of Immunology (ECI) 2018

The American Association of Immunologists (AAI) is pleased to offer travel grants to regular or trainee AAI members in good standing to attend the ECI 2018. Recipients will be reimbursed up to $2,000 US for their travel expenses to the meeting.

Application deadline: March 20, 2018

To be eligible for an AAI travel grant, the applicant must be an AAI member in good standing for two consecutive years (2017 and 2018). The applicant must also be the presenting author of an abstract submitted to the ECI 2018.

Preference will be given to first authors of abstracts and applicants with no more than $250,000 in total research funding from all sources (excluding PI salary). Only one member from a laboratory will be eligible to receive a grant. Applicants may not combine an AAI travel grant with any other travel grant or award to ECI 2018.

National Society Travel Grants

You can apply for a national society travel grant during abstract submission via the online abstract submission system. All applications will first be reviewed with regards to the eligibility criteria for an EFIS Travel Grant. Those applications which could not be considered for an EFIS Travel Grant will be forwarded to the respective National Member Societies in order to be reviewed for a National Society Grant by the respective National Member Society.

Please check your National Societies’ website for further information about travel grants they may be offering to their young members to foster their attendance of the ECI 2018 congress.
